As Can-Do Canine! provides you the convenience of coming to your home, we appreciate some flexibility and forgiveness for needing to move appointments or be a couple minutes late. We will absolutely notify you if we will be more than 5 minutes late or need to change a time. In return, you may get a thank-you discount, as well as flexibility when you need a change, too!
Late cancellation and No-show fees
Related: as we do have other clients waiting on us and often have a full schedule and potentially a waitlist, we do appreciate time ahead of a cancelled appointment to contact other clients to fill your spot. Any cancellations or no-shows within 16 hours of your standing appointment time will be subject to a cancellation fee of $10.
Additional fees
Travel fees: to account for the ability to travel to your location, we do have a base service area and apply a travel fee outside of that radius. Our service radius is 19 miles from Santa Ana, CA (or Suisun City, in Solano County) and for each block of 15 miles outside that radius, we charge $5. e.g. 20-30 miles from base adds $5, 31-45 miles, $10. This fee may be waived under some conditions.
Late fee: Late booking; bookings made within 12 hours of requested time: $5
Late cancellation; cancellations made by client within 24 hours of service, half the base fee (no travel included) Cancellations within 12 hours of service, full rate (not including travel).
Holiday Care Premiums: holiday services will be a 25% higher rate on the day of the holiday and some holiday weekends. See booking site for more information.
Cleaning fee: applies to boarding services (currently unavailable); if your dog is not potty trained and has multiple accidents in a day, a $10/day fee is applied to pay for cleaning products and extra time cleaning.
*We do not provide potty training. We do our best to set the dog up for success so they have potty breaks as regularly as they need and are in a place that they will not have accidents when unsupervised. We are not leaving them for many hours in a free space to do as they please*
Note on Adoption Service
There has been some confusion in the past, and I want to clarify for those prospects on the lookout for a new four-legged family member: Can-Do Canine! does NOT house animals available for adoption, or sell animals. My role in this service is to educate and guide you in finding the perfect pet for your family and lifestyle.
Pet Sitting Minimum Times
The 15 minute walk is only intended for a potty break, and checking the drinking water bowl. If you need our sitters to feed your pets, administer medication, clean the litter box, water plants, check the mail, do any light cleaning or other household tasks, these services are included in and require a minimum of a 30 minute pet sitting service.
Remember that quality of care has to correlate with time provided: the more you would like us to accomplish with the care we strive to offer, the more time we will need. Tip: try timing yourself doing every task you plan for your sitter to accomplish in one visit. Can you do it all in 30 minutes? If not, select a longer visit time, or consider our overnight sitting service!
Summer Limits
Summertime can be a dangerous time for some dogs! When the weather climbs over 80º, Can-Do Canine! will be taking precautions to keep everyone safe. We will not be booking walks over a half hour long, and we will be covering less ground to prevent burns and overheating. Your options for continuing to get your pet satisfied with exercise are to book multiple blocks of 30 minutes, in which we will take breaks for water and cooling down, or to book enrichment appointments at home for your sitter to play with toys or teach new games to tire your pup's body AND brain out!
Can-Do Canine! does not currently have a space for boarding pets. Please check back for further information!
Boarding Application and Information Sheet
Now required for all Applicants
We want to be clear, transparent, and communicative about our policies for all dogs that stay in our care at our home. Please fill out our Google Form AND our written Information sheet and waiver to be aware of all risks and facts about boarding your dog. Application can be filled here and boarding agreement can be dowloaded and filled out by hand or on a tablet, or we can go through paperwork during a care consult.
